No-Bake Crafty Cakes
I love birthdays! It's scientifically proven that birthdays are good for you because the more you have, the longer you live 😊.
This year I celebrated my actual birthday quietly; feeling loved; and full of gratitude for another joyous trip around the sun. No party for me, but I still wanted a cake because it's not really a birthday without one. Only problem is that I'm a maker and NOT a baker.
Inspired by this Damask Love project, I decided to craft my own birthday cakes (yes, plural) from paper mâché boxes. Which, in my world is the equivalent of baking from scratching.
There are a number of benefits to going the no-bake crafty cake route, such as:
The calories in these cakes truly don't count because there's absolutely zero calories to count!
These cakes were a bargain to make. I picked up the paper mâché boxes at Dollar Tree and everything else was shopped from my personal stash of supplies.
These cakes can serve a dual purpose as gift boxes for small treats like cupcakes or party favors.
