Sushi Saturday | New Sunglasses

A sunny Saturday afternoon gave me a chance to lunch with my girls (my daughters) at a nearby sushi place that has outdoor seating. It also gave me a chance to try out my new contact lenses and wear non-prescription sunglasses. After many years of consideration I finally took the plunge and got contact lenses. It will be a bit of an adjustment as I figure out the different combinations of progressive eye glasses, contact lenses, readers, and sunglasses needed for various tasks. For now, I like having all the options and look forward to buying stylish frames that favor form over function.

These sunglasses were actually a freebie with purchase. They were included as part of the contact lenses package. I chose this particular pair because it's a style that I would admire, but never purchase for myself. I'm loving the sunglasses, but not entirely loving the overall outfit.

For one, I'm not sold on these soft denim flare jeans. I usually prefer skinny jeans in a dark rinse, but added the flares as a wardrobe basic and as a way to add some variety to my jeans collection. So far, the jury is still out on whether these stay or go.

Second, I feel like the shoes are all wrong for the rest of the outfit. Next time I'd choose something with a heel and a pattern that doesn't compete with the stripes in the scarf. With a few tweaks, this outfit is salvagable and deserves a repeat. I'll restyle it and try it again.
