Shift-ing Looks | Gray Shift Dress
Doing a replay of this gray shfit dress, this time paired with the sash-belt that came with it and a Snake Moto Jacket. Adding the belt and the jacket changes the look from casual to business casual.
In an effort to be more thoughtful about my wardrobe and clothes purchases, I'm honing in on my personal style and what works for me. I knew I liked this dress. What I really wanted to understand was, WHY I liked it. Some of what I came up with was:
It's a shift dress - The shift is a very common silhouette in my wardrobe. It's flattering and works well with boots, heels, or flats. It's also effortless (no buttons, zippers, hooks, or other closures).
It's a neutral color - I like neutrals, especially black and white. Gray gives me shades of both and can be matched with nearly everything in my closet. One of the benefits of sticking with the same brand over multiple seasons is the ease of matching for monochromatic or coordinated looks.
It's versatile - It's dressy enough for work and comfortable enough for travel. Two important things I needed when going straight from the office to the airport.
The more I know, the better choices I can make. True for clothes and for life.
