Going Green | Blouson Silhouette
I spent most of the summer wearing shades of navy, red, yellow, and white from my capsule wardrobe. The transition between seasons is a time when I like to experiment with new colors like this jewel-toned green. The color was eye catching and the burnout print fabric is what sold me.
In addition to looking good, I also want to feel good in my clothes. For me that means wearing clothes that fit (I want to be comfortable sitting and standing) and flatter (I consider silhouette, cut, drape, and length).
This dress has a blouson silhouette which is cinched through the waist with a top that billows out creating a blouse-like affect. This silhouette doesn't cling to lumps and bumps and it's universally flattering. It's a nice option if you don't want to emphasize your FUPA or muffin top. The one downside is that smocked blousons, like the one on my dress, don't usually have pockets. It makes up for it by being a feminine look that is ultra easy to wear.
