LOOKBOOK | Styling Faux Leather Leggings

It's been a little over a month since I've started dressing from a capsule wardrobe. My capsule has 20 items (not including shoes and outerwear). Each day I mix and match them to create different outfits. The process is forcing me to rethink each piece and ask myself, "how many different ways can I wear this item?"

Take for instance these faux leather leggings. I used to not wear them often--even though they were comfortable, fit well, and I got lots of compliments. Looking back I realize I'd convinced myself that "leather" was hard to style. I was wrong. I had been limiting myself with arbitrary fashion rules.

But once I started seeing them as an on-trend fashion item it gave me the nudge to find ways to work them into my wardrobe. I challenged myself to use 6 different scenarios as prompts. I cataloged them in the style lookbook below. Turns out these leggings are not only easy to style, but they're also versatile enough to mix and match with all the tops in my capsule wardrobe.
