Dec 24 Christmas Gifts

This tartan skirt is one of my holiday favorites. It's such a classic pattern that never goes out of style. I wanted to show it off by recreating something I'd seen on another IG account. This meant borrowing gifts from my daughter, Z, to use as props because I had none of my own.

I had to borrow gifts because I'd decided not to buy any Christmas gifts. None. Not for anyone.

Why?

I no longer enjoyed it, so I stopped doing it. I'd made it a point to stop doing things simply out of obligation, guilt, tradition, or habit. I still give gifts. But on my own terms. I freed myself from expectations that were not my own and I was able to put my energy into things that really brought me joy this season.
