The Spellbound | Halloween Cocktail (Video)
To be spellbound is to be enchanted, entranced, or fascninated and its exactly what you'd want in a cocktail. It takes only one sip to fall under the the spell of this drink with its striking layers and deceptively sweet and fruity flavors.
The creation of the Spellbound is the result of a double dose of inspiration. The name derives from this year's Halloween theme -- I Put a Spell On You, while the recipe is inspired by this cocktail video.
Recipe
The Spellbound is essentially a Vodka Sunrise that's been modified for dramatic effect. There are three main ingredients, all of which are bar basics:
1/4 inch of homemade grenadine
1/2 cup of orange juice
2-3 oz black vodka (vodka blackened with food coloring)
Pour 1/4 inch of grenadine in bottom of glass. Add ice.
Add in orange juice, leaving 1-2 inches at the top of the glass.
Top with vodka. Stir and enjoy.
