Power In Our Vote

This picture perfectly captured my day. It’s a Friday, I had the day off from work, and it was a beautiful fall day. I spent my morning enjoying a cup of coffee and easing into the day. The afternoon was for running errands while riding with the car roof open. Of all the things on my to-do list, nothing was more important than going to the Cornelius Town Hall to take advantage of early voting.

I couldn't have timed my arrival more perfectly because there was no one in line ahead of me. No waiting, no issues, no hostility, and no intimidation. Sadly, we're living in a time when this is not true for all voters (Here and here).

I proudly wore my 'Power In Our Vote Since 1913' sweatshirt to represent my sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. It's an honor for me to add my voice to the collective power of our sisterhood.
