Making Room for What You Really Want
It's so easy to fall into the habit of eating at my desk, even when I'm at home. Today I decided to take an intentional break for lunch.
My menu (prosciutto, cheese, bread, butter, jam, olives) was inspired by my experiences in Sweden where Fika is a social institution that involves taking a moment to indulge and be at rest and ease.
Although it's not a traditional fika, I still brought out my tray to remind me to take a moment and appreciate the good things in life.
It seems like such a little thing, but it's really a big thing because this action was about keeping my word to myself. Actually doing what I say I'm going to do. If I say I want more abundant joy and ease, then I have to be willing to make room for it in my life.
How are you making room in your life for what you really want?
