Prosecco + Cranberry | NYE Brunch Cocktail

Prosecco + Cranberry | NYE Brunch Cocktail

Celebrating the start of a new year is always a festive occasion, especially as we close out what has to be the most bizarre year of our lifetime. And nothing says festive like popping a bottle of bubbly.

Of all the bubbly options, prosecco is my favorite. It's light, refreshing, and affordable. I enjoy drinking it alone or mixed with seasonal flavors to add pop + fizz + clink to any occasion. By mixing the prosecco with cranberries to create this cocktail, it gave me a chance to use up what I had left over from Christmas. Prosecco is also a brunch staple, so I knew it would pair well with all the goodies on the brunch buffet.

Tip #1 - Adjust for Sweetness
If you like your cocktails sweet, you will love this one! Between the simple syrup and sugared cranberries, it's more than enough to balance the dryness of the wine and the tartness of the cranberry juice. The Grand Marnier adds to the sugar rush with its sweetened citrusy flavor.

Tip #2 - Make It a Mocktail
By substituting with lemon-lime soda for the alcohol, you can easily turn this into a mocktail. The carbonation of the drink mimics the bubbles of the prosecco, while the lemon-lime flavor lends a bit of the citrus taste.

Tip #3 - Garnish With Rosemary
Garnishing with a sprig of fresh rosemary adds both color and flavor.
