Bubbly Birthday Brunch

Bubbly Birthday Brunch

Break out the bubbly! This April we celebrated Vivien's 21st birthday with a Bubbly Birthday Brunch that was all about brunch, mimosas, and lots and lots of glitter. [To see more birthday photos, scroll to the bottom of the post]

Bubbly Birthday Brunch Menu

Brunch is my favorite meal of the week. The timing allows for slow mornings, which I like because it allows me to easy into my day. I also like brunch menus because they are full of delicious options that bring together sweet and savory flavors.

While putting together the menu for the Bubbly Birthday Brunch I decided to keep it simple and stick with classic flavor combinations of savory and sweet. Not wanting to spend much time in the kitchen preparing food, I opted for all pre-made menu items. It was a huge timesaver and by sticking with quality items I didn't have to compromise on taste.

Quiche Lorraine
Homemade is not always best. At least not in the case of quiche lorraine which can take up to 2 hours to make. My recommendation is to make it easy on yourself and go with a frozen version. This one from Trader Joe's was delicious and was ready in under 30 mintues with no prep and minimal clean up.

Chicken + Waffles
Again, I chose to go the pre-made route with both the chicken and the waffles. The waffles were a frozen belgian waffle found in my grocery store's frozen food section. For the chicken, I turned to Tenders — a local restaurant that’s known for their …you guessed it, chicken tenders. They are amazingly good.

Fruit Tray
A tray of assorted fruit from Aldi and Whole Foods rounds out the menu. Fruit pairs well with both the quiche and the waffles. Or it can be eaten alone topped with a bit of whipped cream (also NOT homemade).

Strawberry Cake
A strawberry cake from Whole Foods served as the birthday cake. This cake was decorated in such a way that it would have worked going straight from the bakery case to brunch table. To make it feel more personalized with the table decor I added purple sprinkles and topped with purple macarons match the party decorations.

Mimosa Bar
The mimosa bar was the inspiration for the bubbly theme and was the final savory item on the menu. Simple set up with glasses and two juice options — orange or cranberry, was all that was needed for serving up bubbly drinks.
